The store was great and the customer support was even better. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, clean, and polite. The store was well stocked and organized. I moved to DeFuniak from Destin and I can't remember the last time I had such a pleasant shopping experience. They do buisness the right way, with integrity and honesty. Good to see there are still great family owned businesses. I would HIGHLY recommend this store.
This is a "small town feel" hardware store. Staff is friendly and helpful. Most often they have exactly what you need at a good price.
Friendly Staff Go Above and Beyond to Help. I go there to get gardening supplies, stock up on peanut bars, pet the store cat, and generally try to find solutions to the problems that spring up. I've been able to not only get advice on which items to buy, but when an item I needed (trash stabbing sticks) was no longer in stock, the gentleman who works in the hardware section offered to make them for me then and there! I was only charged the price of the dowels and nails, so it was a great bargain, and so nice of him! It has made cleaning up our road on family walks much easier and more fun. I see that some have met with bad service, but I can honestly say I never have. To me, the good service, including employees who know their departments well and can give experienced advice, is one of the main reasons I keep going back. Ace is sometimes a little higher but I'd rather pay the extra 50 cents or whatever and get the help I need while avoiding the crowds at other stores. That, and those 50 cent peanut bars are delicious!
Worst customer service ever ! They told me they couldn't give a paper bag to put crickets in, that I had to buy a cricket container for $5. A paper bag really ? Never shopping here again !
Consolidated Ace is much more than just a hardware store. They sell lumber, pool chemicals, feed and a long list of other items. One of the first places I go in DeFuniak when I need something. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which is good because their stock is so extensive that I'd spend hours looking on my own.
